Job Description

HFM BOCES has an immediate full-time opening for a NYS Certified Physical Education/Health Teacher. This position will be shared with the Special Education division of HFM BOCES and Edinburg Common School District. Pay rate and benefits will be as per HFM BOCES Teachers’ contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements appropriate lesson plans, incorporating interdisciplinary goals/objectives.
  • Maintains a positive and accepting classroom environment for the students.
  • Provides for and monitors the supervision and safety of students at all times.
  • Enables students to work toward their IEP goals and plan lessons accordingly.
Job Qualifications

NYS Initial or Professional Certification in the field of Physical/Health Education.

TEACH Clearance

Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required.
