Are you passionate about the Spanish language and eager to make a difference in students' lives across multiple schools? HFM BOCES is seeking two dynamic and dedicated Distance Learning Spanish Teachers to deliver engaging instruction through our regional Distance Learning network.
In this innovative role, you will be based at our Johnstown main campus, using high-quality technology to connect and teach students in one or more partner school districts throughout our region. HFM BOCES is looking for an enthusiastic teacher to create a vibrant and inclusive classroom experience that transcends location.

Two pathways to apply:
1. NYS-Certified Candidates:
- Valid New York State teaching certification in Spanish (7–12); Students with Disabilities (7-12) – Spanish; Transitional B, C, G, or J Spanish (7-12); or Internship Certificate Spanish (7-12)
- Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required
2. Bachelor’s Degree Candidates (Career Changers Welcome!):
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish
- Willingness to enroll in a paid teacher apprenticeship pathway to earn a masters degree in education and NYS certification while gaining classroom experience
- Mentorship and support provided through our teacher apprenticeship program
TEACH Clearance
Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
