Job Description

Instructional Coach - Data (TOSA)

HFM BOCES has an anticipated opening for a full-time Instructional Data Coach (TOSA) who will be responsible for working with districts in a variety of roles. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, classroom teaching experience, and the ability to facilitate professional development. This probationary, 10-month tenure-track position, plus 30 days over the summer, is in the tenure area of Instructional Support Services. Candidates must hold a valid New York State Teaching Certificate. 

Expected Duties:

- Partner with district/school leadership and educators to analyze multiple sources of student data, diagnose instructional needs, and identify research-based instructional strategies to close achievement gaps. 

- Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners using multiple data sources. 

- Manage and distribute instructional resources to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources. 

- Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom.

- Extensive understanding of NYS learning standards.

- Extensive understanding of various instructional strategies.

Job Qualifications

New York State Teaching Certificate

- Classroom teaching experience (5+ years preferred)

- Experience in development, preparation and presentation of professional development (preferred); training will be provided

- Experience/ability to utilize data to guide and support instructional strategies to close performance gaps (preferred); training will be provided

 

TEACH Clearance

Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on candidate's ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
