HFM BOCES is accepting applications for a School Monitor at our P-Tech High School in Johnstown.

The School Monitor Position is a 10-month, labor-class, civil service position with additional work available over the summer. The School Monitors will work with Teachers, School Safety Officers and School Administration to create and support an environment where all students feel that they are welcome, they belong, and they are supported. By fostering positive relationships with students, staff and families, through active communication and strong collaboration, the School Monitors will be a part of a team that works to implement and maintain our district-wide and school safety plans with fidelity.
- Supervise and support upperclassmen students in the FMCC Student Union and other campus areas
- Foster a safe, respectful, and productive environment for early college learners
- Help students navigate college life—whether it’s finding a classroom or managing their time
- Be a trusted adult presence and role model on a college campus
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma is required.
Fulton County Civil Service
This is a Non-Competitive Civil Service position. Applicants must be a resident of Hamilton, Fulton, or Montgomery County in order to be considered for this position.
TEACH Clearance
Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
