Executive Director of Instructional Programs

HFM BOCES is seeking an innovative, collaborative senior leader to serve as the Executive Director of Instructional Programs. This role advances HFM’s mission to deliver cost-effective, high-quality instructional services that meet the evolving needs of schools, students, and communities across the region. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Director ensures programs embody HFM’s vision to be a Partner, Advocate, and Leader.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic instructional leadership to strengthen student achievement, engagement, and future readiness.
  • Lead and support programs across Alternative Education, Adult Education, Special Education, Career & Technical Education (CTE), and P-TECH.
  • Advance regional implementation of the Portrait of a Graduate and data-driven continuous improvement.
  • Foster equitable, inclusive learning environments and expand regional access to high-quality programming.
  • Develop partnerships with school districts, higher education institutions, workforce agencies, and community organizations.
  • Support workforce development through aligned CTE, P-TECH, and adult education pathways.
  • Guide budgeting, CoSer development, grants, and compliance to ensure program quality and sustainability.

TEACH Clearance

Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on candidate's ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
