HFM PTECH is seeking dynamic and student-centered World Language Teachers to join our organization. We are interested in candidates certified to teach Spanish, Italian, Chinese (Mandarin), French, or American Sign Language (ASL). Full-time and part-time candidates are encouraged to apply.
This position offers considerable flexibility, including opportunities for on-site, hybrid, or fully remote instruction based on program needs and candidate qualifications.
Deliver engaging and rigorous world language instruction to students in grades 7-12 that is geared toward the use of language in the real world.
Teach courses that may include introductory language courses, Checkpoint A and Checkpoint B coursework, and college-level language courses.
Develop and implement curriculum aligned with New York State Learning Standards and program requirements.
Utilize instructional technology to support in-person, hybrid, and/or remote learning environments.
Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families.
Collaborate with colleagues, college partners, and industry partners to support program goals.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning, and other school activities as appropriate to assigned FTE.
Full-time or part-time opportunities available.
Minimum appointment: 0.2 FTE.
Work location may be: HFM PTECH Main Campus, Hybrid, Fully Remote
Assignment structure will be based on student enrollment, scheduling needs, and candidate qualifications.
*Salary commensurate with experience and FTE and in accordance with the HFM BOCES Teachers' Association contract.
Valid New York State teaching certification in one of the following areas:
Demonstrated commitment to student success and inclusive educational practices.
Strong communication, collaboration, and instructional technology skills.
Experience teaching secondary students.
Experience with online or hybrid instruction.
Familiarity with proficiency-based language instruction and ACTFL standards.
Experience teaching college-level or dual enrollment courses.
