Position Overview:
HFM BOCES is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Administrative Coordinator/Assistant Principal to support the leadership and daily operations of Adirondack Academy. The ideal candidate is a strong instructional leader with a deep understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), behavioral intervention strategies, and special education law. This individual should be an effective communicator, a collaborative team player, and someone who is passionate about supporting students in alternative education settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and monitoring of MTSS and behavior intervention plans.
- Support student success through proactive discipline practices and restorative approaches.
- Ensure compliance with IEPs, 504 plans, and all relevant special education laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with school counselors, social workers, instructional staff, and families to create a positive, inclusive school culture.
- Assist with staff supervision, evaluation, and professional development.
- Support scheduling, student enrollment, and program planning.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment that promotes academic growth and social-emotional learning.
