HFM BOCES Instructional Resource Center/School Library System has an immediate opening for a provisional* Mail Courier.  This is an 11-month position working September 1 - June 30 plus 20 days in the summer with a full benefits package including health and dental insurance and opportunity to participate in the NYS Employees Retirement System.   This position will be filled as soon a qualified applicant is selected.

This is a position involving responsibility for the efficient sorting, delivery, handling and transporting a variety of mail, packages and other materials, requiring the use of a motor vehicle. The work is performed under supervision according to established procedures.

Typical work responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  •     Drive courier vehicle to transport IRC/SLS and other materials to and from educational facilities and other locations
  •     Sort prepared materials in bulk by school buildings or departments for delivery
  •     Daily delivery of all mail - postal and intraoffice
  •     Keep track of routine maintenance of courier vehicle
  •     Operate digital automatic mail machine for daily postal items
  •     Record keeping using database
  •     Servicing of IRC/SLS materials
  •     Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

**HFM BOCES will also consider applicants who are available to work part-time a few days a week.
