HFM BOCES Special Education Work Based Learning Program has an anticipated opening for a Teaching Assistant. The position will provide support by teaching and reinforcing important job skills to students who spend their school day on job sites gaining real world experience. The level of support needed for each student varies. Collaboration with businesses and school personnel is required. The successful candidate must partiticpate in training to transport students in school vehicles to various job site in Fulton and Montgomery Counties.

Mail CourierHFM2025-Mail Courier

HFM BOCES Instructional Resource Center/School Library System has an immediate opening for a provisional* Mail Courier.  This is an 11-month position working two days a week (8:00-3:30) during the school year (September 1st - June 30th) with up to 20 days in the summer (summer schedule is flexible).  This is a tested civil service position. This position will be filled as soon a qualified applicant is selected.

The courier is responsible for sorting, transporting, and delivering mail, packages, and other materials within the HFM BOCES main campus building as well as out to our member school districts and other facilities.  The work is performed under supervision according to established procedures and requires the use of a motor vehicle. 

Typical work responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  •     Driving the courier vehicle to transport materials to and from educational facilities and other locations
  •     Collecting, sorting, and delivering daily interoffice mail within the HFM BOCES main campus building    
  •     Sorting prepared materials and loading the courier vehicle for daily deliveries     
  •     Operate the digital automatic mail machine to add postage amounts to daily US mail 
  •     Using a database for daily record keeping 
  •     Light servicing of IRC materials
  •     Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
