Instructional CoachINSTRCOACH 25/26

Job Description
 

HFM BOCES has an immediate opening for a full-time Instructional Coach (1.0 FTE) who will be responsible for working with districts in a variety of roles. The successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills, classroom teaching experience and the ability to facilitate professional development. This probationary, 10-month+30 tenure-track position, with some days over the summer. The position will be split between Special Education (.6 FTE) and Instructional Services (.4 FTE). 

Expected duties:

  • Serve in the development and support the implementation of instructional plans that align to NYS standards, district goals and curricula
  • Work with teachers and administrators to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs and identify research-based instructional strategies to close achievement gaps.
  • Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners
  • Manage and distribute instructional resources to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources
  • Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom
  • Extensive understanding of NYS learning standards
  • Extensive understanding of various instruction strategies

Integrated Math TeacherCTE MATH TCHR 24/25

HFM Career and Technical Education -- Integrated Math (7-12) Teacher

HFM BOCES Career & Technical Education (CTE)  has an opening and is accepting applications for a full-time, 10-month tenure-track Mathematics teaching position. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Mathematics Teacher to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) team. The ideal candidate will integrate mathematics instruction within the contexts of construction, environmental conservation, cybersecurity, robotics, and skilled trades. This position requires a passion for teaching, a commitment to student success, and the ability to connect mathematical concepts to real-world applications in various technical fields. HFM BOCES' teachers are part of the NYSTRS.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development:

    • Design and implement an integrated mathematics curriculum that aligns with CTE standards and incorporates industry-specific contexts in construction, environmental conservation, cybersecurity, robotics, and skilled trades.
    • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that engage students and promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  2. Instruction:

    • Teach mathematics courses that are integrated with CTE subjects, ensuring students understand and apply mathematical concepts in practical, real-world scenarios.
    • Use a variety of teaching methods and technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  3. Collaboration and Professional Development:

    • Work collaboratively with CTE instructors and industry partners to ensure curriculum relevancy and alignment with current industry standards and practices.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices and industry trends.
