**Anticipated Vacancy**

 

Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament Manager:

HFM Odyssey of the Mind is seeking an organized, energetic, and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Tournament Manager for a regional Odyssey of the Mind (OM) competition. The Tournament Manager will oversee all aspects of planning, organizing, and running the event, ensuring a smooth, fair, and enjoyable experience for students, volunteers, and judges. 

 

Responsibilities:

Plan and run the tournament schedule (long-term & spontaneous problems)

Recruit, train, and assign volunteers (judges, timers, scorekeepers)

Communicate with teams and manage event logistics 

Oversee setup, execution, scoring, and awards

 

Requirements:

Strong organizational and communication skills

Leadership experience and ability to manage volunteers

Familiarity with Odyssey of the Mind is helpful but not required

Budget Analyst/Deputy Treasurer (BOCES)HFM2025BO-Deputy Treasurer

The HFM BOCES Business Office is looking for a Deputy Treasurer.  This is a non-represented, 35 hour, Monday-Friday position with full benefits.

This position involves the responsibility of assisting the Treasurer, BOCES with the management of various financial functions in accordance with established policies and procedures, with the primary focus being budget development, analysis and processing of financial transactions. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Treasurer, BOCES with leeway allowed for the use of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work·. Does related work as required. 
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES (Illustrative but not exhaustive): 
Maintains detailed accounting records and monitors all funds in accordance with established policies and procedures; 
Prepares general ledger journal entries and oversees the reconciliation of various financial accounts; 
Assists with the oversight of payroll accounting and various reports; 
Responsible for the annual audit of all accounts maintained or supervised by the Treasurer, BOCES; Conducts periodic audits of various funds to ensure compliance with general operating procedures; 
Issues receipts for all monies received and deposits all funds in a timely fashion; 
In the absence of the Treasurer, BOCES, transfers monies as required for payroll, interfund transfers and cash flows; 
Disburses monies upon receipt of a signed warrant or duly certified payroll or Board resolution;

Oversees the preparation of Warrant of Claims for all accounts including generation of warrants, entering of purchase order information, verifying expenditures and releasing checks for payment approved by the Board of Education; 

Assists the Treasurer, BOCES in various aspects of annual budget development and BOCES aid reporting; 
Responsible for the investment of monies including portion of monies to be invested, length of 
investment and making sure all investments are fully guaranteed or insured; 
Assists in the preparation of a variety of reports in connection with financial accounting and statistical affairs
